Our cottage renovated in old style is situated In the centre of Sint Pancras, an old historical farmers' village near Alkmaar (the famous cheese city). In our originally Dutch garden you will find not only a very old Walnut Tree, but also an original cabbage store house which has been renovated in original style and transformed with love into a romantic Bed & Breakfast facility with two cosy rooms: the Garden Room and the Cabbage Attic. Both rooms are suitable for 2 persons. 

Bed & Breakfast The Old Walnut Tree is very suitable for short or longer holidays with trips to the beautiful old city of Alkmaar (5 km) with all it's shops and of course the famous Dutch cheese market, the tremendous landscape of Westfriesland with it's wide lands and tulip grounds, historical towns like Schagen, Hoorn, Enkhuizen, Medemblik or Twisk, and last-but-not-least the dunes and beaches (10 km) between Egmond, Bergen and Schoorl. Amsterdam is only 50 kilometers away.

After having spent a day in the surroundings you will find a warm welcome in your romantic room, on the veranda or in our big garden. 

Your room will have:

  • Private entrance
  • Decorated in an old Dutch style
  • A double bed (box spring) 
  • Color television
  • Radio/CD player
  • Comfortable chairs (Garden room) or lounche bank (Cabbage Attic)
  • Private bathroom with shower, handbasin and toilet

Furthermore you can make use of:

  • Small kitchen with cooker*, fridge, crockery set
  • Coffee machine and kettle
  • A lot of music CDs
  • Terrace in the back garden with table and chairs
  • WIFI Internet

* Only if you stay for a week or longer, you can use the kitchen to cook.

You are not allowed to smoke in the rooms or to bring animals. 

There are many restaurants in the neighbourhood where you can have dinner.

Bed & Breakfast The Old Walnut Tree has the following prices per night:

In the weekends (during the whole year) and in high season (from May 1st till August 31st): minimum stay 2 nights (except if you book one of our arrangements).

Prices are exclusive breakfast and tourist taxes (€ 0,50 per person per night).

Extensive breakfast in your room, the garden or on our beautiful veranda
Your romantic night at Bed & Breakfast The Old Walnut Tree is not complete without an extensive breakfast in your room, the old Dutch garden or on our beautiful veranda. This delicious extensive breakfast will cost an additional € 7,50 per person per night. If you wish we can serve an extra luxury breakfast for a price of € 10,- per person per night.

Extra possibilities
On request we can provide:

  • Bicycles for rent € 7,50 per day, € 30 a week (per bicycle).  
  • Packed lunch € 10.
  • Romantic picnic basket for 2 persons € 25 (including wine).
